... bergenline ave is 2 blocks west! great international shopping! latin food, if you walk uptown, there are many hot spot shopping areas with stuff from brazil, hondouras and peru. union city has a multi cultural ethnic mix. many people from equador, costa rica, puerto rico, dominican republic, lebanon, india and all over the world.

THIS ATTRACTS MICE AND RATS BECAUSE WE LIVE SO CLOSE TO THE WATER.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TRASH BAGS WITH FOOD IN IT EXPOSED TO THE CRITTERS.

All glass, bottles, plastic, plastic packaging covering, cans and aluminum goes into the orange containers. PLEASE RINSE. PLASTIC TAKE OUT FOOD CONTAINERS, STYROFOAM CHINESE FOOD CONTAINERS, STYROFOAM EGG CONTAINERS AND ANY PLASTIC CUPS OR PLATES NEED TO BE SLIGHTLY RINSED AND PUT IN THE ORANGE CONTAINER.

News papers, cereal boxes, CARDBOARD EGG CARTONS, packing boxes, junk mail, paper of any kind goes into the blue recycle containers.

All boxes must be CRUSHED ( macaroni boxes, spaghetti, cereal boxes, toothpaste boxes, ice cream containers, waffle boxes, frozen pizza boxes, Amazon boxes, etc.)  must be flattened,  TAPED UP OR SOMEHOW NEAT and flat.

The recycle people will not take boxes that aren't flat.

Garbage is also picked up on Thursday nights.

All garbage needs to go out after 6pm in the winter and 8pm in the summer.

Please put the cans/bins away in the morning if you see them on the street.
